Make Housing Central on October 19

People Need Affordable Homes.

Your Vote Can Help Make That Happen

The Housing Central partners are asking BC’s next provincial government to commit to two key strategies to address the housing crisis.

BUILD MORE

Affordable Housing To Meet The Need

We need to build 12,500 more affordable homes each year until 2034 to address today’s unmet need, address future growth, and address homelessness.

Included in this figure are 3,000 homes created specifically for Indigenous Peoples.

PROTECT MORE

Of The Affordable Homes We Already Have

Building alone is not enough to solve the housing crisis. Supporting non-profit acquisitions will safeguard existing affordable homes and ensure they remain community assets.

We also need to catch up on the deferred maintenance of non-profit homes to extend their lifespan for current and future renters.

MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT

And Help Solve The Housing Crisis

90% of British Columbians believe housing is an important issue in this election. Be part of the solution, and vote for candidates who support affordable housing.

Real Renters. Real Impact.

Affordable housing can transform the lives of individuals and families across BC. Hear from renters in core housing need who are advocating for affordable homes for all.

“Everyone needs to feel safe, and that safety first comes with a home.”

“When I found out the building was for sale, panic mode set in.”

“What chance do young people stand in a market like ours?”

“Many refugee claimants are ending up in the shelter system.”

Can We Solve the Housing Crisis?

We have a plan for that.

The Affordable Housing Plan for BC measures how much housing we need, the number of homes we need to build and protect to meet that need, and demonstrates how much our economy can grow with these solutions in place. Our research shows affordable homes for all is within reach – with your support.
