W06: Hoarding - A Harm Reduction Approach
Hoarding is a complex and challenging psychological disorder that may lead to negative consequences for both the individual and the community. Given the necessity of physical distancing, it has become even more critical that housing providers find ways to support tenants who may be socially isolated. This session provides information about using harm reduction principles to help tenants with hoarding behaviour. Participants will discuss harm reduction strategies and accessing helpful hoarding resources, as well as pest-control issues and prevention, the clutter removal process, and the post-clean-out care process.
